Sup' DA! Just a small update... I've recently been getting into graphic design. Both at my job and on my own. Things have been going pretty well so far. Learning a lot. With that said, I've created a facebook page. Yeah, I know. I'm about 7 years behind. lol Anyway, it's a business page for my artin' and whatnot. in the zone... artistically?

My wife and I were having a "discussion" about being in a zone artistically. I was trying to explain to her that when we, as artists, are in a zone, it is extremely hard to stop what we are doing before we are finished. I've been up till the wee hours of the morning working on a piece because it seemed like everything was flowing. Everything in my head was coming to life on paper/screen pretty much how I envisioned it, if not better! In the ZONE! My wife's view is that it's basically a choice to keep drawing or whatever, and that we can stop what we are doing, even if we are locked in (in the zone) and pick right back up later, like the next

Does music affect/influence your art? For me, at times, it does. Music tends to evoke certain attitudes in me that I try to convey in my work. Let's say I'm drawing Jesus. I'll listen to some gospel music. I'll listen to some rock or rap (preferably Papa Roach or Mystikal) if I'm drawing action. If I'm drawing Wifey, I'll listen to "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry (don't worry, she loves the song). Or if I'm just trying to create something with no initial direction, I'll listen to jazz to get me focused and the creative juices flowing. I don't always listen to music when I draw. But with a wife, 4 kids and a dog, my headphones are my friends!
